This weathervane was carved by thenoted folk artist - woodcarver from Saisconset, MA. The original copper weathervane "Fame" is based on the copper weathervane which is part of the collection of the Museum of American Folk Art. The original dates from 1880 - 1890. This work is made of carved and applied wood which is painted to resemble weathered copper. It was created in 2004. The weathervane depicts the Greek Goddess and allegorical figure of "Fame". She is an ambivolent figure who's wreath bestows fame or notoriety and who's trumpet spreads news far and wide. Condition is excellent and we will provide a crate for white glove shipping.
Provenance: The Clydes Restaurant Group based in Washington, DC. purchased and commissioned Perry to create this piece for the Chandler Barn Dining Room at Willow Creek Farm in Leesburg, VA. Purchases made by any credit card are subject to an automatic 8% restocking fee due to the processing charges that we incur for both charge and refund. This is a cost beyond our control.

Layaways are considered at the discretion of the seller on a case by case basis. An initial non- refundable deposit equal to 1/3 of the sales price is due immediately to secure the layaway. Final payment is due no later than 90 days after the purchase date. Items placed on layaway may not be returned FOR ANY REASON.
