A fine American rosewood secretary, dated 1861. The upper case with a flat cornice above glazed doors with open work spandrels and two short drawers. Behind the short drawers are small hidden drawers. One is pencil inscribed 1861. The fall front in the lower case opens to an interior with small drawers in satinwood centering a mirrored alcove with a parquetry surface. The lower case has three drawers over a short bracket foot. The condition is very fine.
