American Impressionist Oil Landscape Painting on Artist Board, Autumn Country House by a Pond, c. 1940
This fine American Impressionist landscape, painted in oil around 1940, shows a country house beside a pond in the fall. The artist painted the scene in warm, soft autumn tones, and the broken brushwork gives the surface a shimmering quality typical of American Impressionism. The composition is well balanced, with the house and the still water working together to make a quiet rural view. The work is anonymous and painted on artist board. It comes framed and would suit a traditional, farmhouse, or collected interior.
