A magnificent large-scale Italian majolica charger, circa 1890, depicting the Procession of Bacchus in a tour de force of Neapolitan ceramic painting. The scene unfolds across the full 25-inch face of the charger with remarkable compositional vitality: a triumphal chariot pulled by a pair of tigers moves through a lush landscape populated by satyrs, maenads, and reclining figures, while winged putti soar overhead bearing offerings — the entire procession rendered with the fluid draftsmanship and warm, vibrant palette characteristic of the finest 19th century Italian majolica. Blues, golds, and greens animate the figures against a sky-blue and cloud-filled background, with the amber-ochre rim framing the composition with decorative authority. Marked on the reverse with the studio name, this charger was produced by Fratelli Bianchi, whose Neapolitan studios were known for high-quality hand-painted majolica in the grand European decorative tradition. At 25 inches in diameter, this is a statement piece with serious decorative impact — equally at home displayed on a stand, hung on a wall, or anchoring a collector's cabinet of Italian ceramics.

Return Policy:
Acanthus Antiques guarantees each item to be as described and will provide a full refund in the event there is a mistake or discrepancy in the description. We make every effort to describe items as accurately as possible. We strive for customer satisfaction and will accept returns if you are not fully satisfied with an item, provided we are notified within three days of receipt and are contacted regarding return shipment of the item. Items must be returned in the same condition in which they were shipped and postmarked within 3 business days of your notification that an item is being returned. Refunds will be issued less shipping, handling, insurance, and any applicable PayPal or Credit Card fees. Purchases made by any credit card are subject to an automatic 8% restocking fee due to the processing charges that we incur for both charge and refund. This is a cost beyond our control.

Shipping Damage:
Please contact us immediately to report any shipping damage. Buyer must keep all boxes and packaging materials- this is a mandatory requirement of both USPS and UPS. Failure to do so will result in denial of an insurance claim. Claims through the U.S. Postal Service are the responsibility of the buyer and we will assist in any way with sending you the necessary papers or insurance receipts.
Layaway Policy:
Layaways are considered at the discretion of the seller on a case by case basis. An initial non- refundable deposit equal to 1/3 of the sales price is due immediately to secure the layaway. Final payment is due no later than 90 days after the purchase date. Items placed on layaway may not be returned FOR ANY REASON. In the event that the final payment is not received within the 90 days, the initial deposit is nonrefundable and the item(s) may be offered for sale to other clients..
